Bill, whose paternal grandparents are from County Kerry, is the managing partner at Collora LLP, a Boston litigation boutique. Bill’s practice focuses on complex civil and white collar criminal litigation, internal and government investigations, and enforcement actions related to sophisticated financial matters.
Bill joined Collora LLP in 2006 after serving more than six years as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice. While at the Department of Justice, he served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to practicing law, Bill was an auditor for several regional and international banking and investment management institutions. He was responsible for conducting and managing compliance investigations and financial audits.
An avid runner, Bill first started working with the American Heart Association in 2007 to introduce the “Lawyers Have Heart” running series started in Washington, DC to the Boston legal community. The event was an opportunity to bring the legal community together in a friendly, competitive atmosphere to raise money for a cause that has personally touched Bill and many others in the community. Lawyers Have Heart Boston was first run in 2008. More than 2000 members of the legal community participate in the event annually and it has helped to raise over $1 million for the American Heart Association. Bill has been involved in the race every year, and is serving as the co-chair for the 10th year anniversary of the vent. He also serves on the American Heart Association Northeast Affiliate board (2011-present).
Bill is also actively involved with the Boston College High School and the Boston College Law School alumni associations. He is a frequent guest lecturer, panelist and mentor and truly enjoys helping others with networking and career development.
