I pleased to announce that I have been named managing partner at my law firm, Collora LLP. Below is the official press release.
Press Release: Boston litigation boutique, Collora LLP has named Bill Lovett as the new Managing Partner. Bill succeeds Jody Newman who served as Managing Partner since 2007. Jody will continue to spearhead the firm’s business development initiatives as chair of the firm’s civil practice group and continue her practice in employment law.
Bill joined Collora in 2006 after serving as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He previously served as chair of the firm’s civil practice group and on various other committees. While serving as Managing Partner, Bill will continue his legal practice focusing on civil and criminal litigation and administrative enforcement matters.
“Bill brings depth, experience and a track record of successful leadership to his new position. He was elected Managing Partner because of his outstanding service to the Firm and his excellent legal, financial and management skills. We are fortunate to have someone of Bill’s caliber leading our Firm,” said Newman.

Bill represents clients in civil and criminal litigation and government investigations and enforcement matters related to accounting fraud and malpractice, financial disputes, tax issues, securities infractions. Most recently, he has represented individual and corporate clients under investigation by federal grand juries and clients who were subjects of SEC enforcement actions. He has also represented various clients in civil suits brought against public accounting firms seeking to recover damages suffered as a result of negligently performed audits.
An avid runner, Bill is the co-founder of Boston’s Lawyers Have Heart, an annual 5K road race and summer celebration sponsored by the legal community to benefit the American Heart Association and is a member of the American Heart Association’s Board. He is a graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School. Prior to law school Bill worked for The Boston Company/Mellon Bank, N.A. where he supervised and executed audits of the company’s financial and internal operations.
